Unity Platform

Branding

As the sole designer at Unity Influence, a Los Angeles-based startup, I worked across product design, UX, graphic design, and branding. The company’s mission was to streamline influencer–brand partnerships through an AI-powered platform that automated campaign paperwork, highlighted top creators, provided clear guidelines, and ensured alignment on goals. This approach reduced costs and improved efficiency for both sides. To build a strong brand foundation, we defined values, voice, and personality, while engaging directly with influencers and business partners. The resulting identity was designed to feel modern, approachable, accessible, and straightforward.

Website

Working as part of a lean team, we approached research quickly and pragmatically, always with scalability in mind. The main challenge was creating a website and a platform that were visually connected yet followed different design priorities—the website focused on marketing and user adoption, while the platform prioritized usability and functionality.

Our goal was simple: users should arrive at the website, quickly understand the value proposition, trust the company, sign up, and seamlessly transition into the platform. Once inside, we onboarded them with a free bundle in exchange for key profile questions. User research guided us in designing this journey to feel intuitive, efficient, and trustworthy.

System Architecture

We mapped out MVP functionalities with a strong emphasis on where human interaction could elevate customer service. Through qualitative interviews with four early users, we discovered that the onboarding flow felt overly long. Based on this feedback, we reduced the flow from 18 to 12 steps and refined the checkout page, resulting in a smoother, more user-friendly experience.

Product Requirements & Functionalities

The MVP launched successfully, introducing a community of influencers and partner brands to a structured, easy-to-use platform. Core features included:

• 5-minute campaign onboarding
• Influencer scoring system
• Influencer portfolios
• Brand dashboards
• Campaign report pages
• Kanban-style campaign management

Accomplishments

Beyond the product, we nurtured community by hosting monthly influencer dinners, which encouraged networking and provided valuable feedback loops. In just six months, Unity grew from concept to full product launch, supported by a comprehensive design system and a collaborative influencer community. These efforts strengthened team performance and drove collective creativity. After my departure, Unity underwent several strategic pivots and eventually evolved into Catalogue, a talent marketplace for influencer content, images, and videos.
